This course is a rigorous year-long Advanced Placement course. The content for the first semester covers United States history from colonization through the Civil War and the second semester continues from Reconstruction to the present. This course is designed to prepare students to be successful on the AP United States History exam.
This online course is a one-semester survey of American Government and Politics covering the Constitution, political beliefs, political parties, interest groups, institutions of government, public policy and civil rights. In short, this course teaches students how this country’s government works. Students become familiar with and develop knowledge of the institutions, documents, policies, political groups, beliefs and theories central to the politics of the United States. Emphasis is placed on critical and evaluative thinking skills, data analysis, collaborative discussion, timed, free-response essay writing, and interpretation of original documents.

- This one semester course provides an introduction to the major principles of Sociology. It offers students a framework with which to address social and political issues, and teaches students to use sociological inquiry as a means of thinking critically about the social world and their place within it. Topics include sociological ideas such as interaction, social structures and institutions, and social change.
